Pink Eye

Not only last week did we have a really bad ice storm but we also had a sickly little girl in our house. Stella has always had really bad allergies and this past week has just been a test of one giant snotty nose and a grumpy girl. The allergies lead us to have a yucky eye that the Dr. told us was a case of what could be pink eye. So, we have been treating it with eye drops that Stella just LOVES (please insert lots of sarcasm)Hopefully we will start to get better soon.

Ice

I am very sad! I thought that we were going to make it through this ice storm pretty good, we had not lost our electric or cable, no damage to the house and no trees down. Today changed all of that, our lovely awning that I got last year for my birthday came tumbling down. This was the placed that I would sit and watch Stella run all over the place, I could come and read a book while Stella was taking a nap, it was just a place I could relax and today I all got torn down. I am very sad about this.

A week of Ice

This week we have had an ice storm, we have been very lucky that we did not lose our electric and have been able to stay nice an cozy at home. These are just a few photos from the past couple of days of us hanging out. Stella cuddling with mom in bed.

Sickly Week

we call this the Skarsten look because this is the look that her daddy gives when he is grumpy about something and Stella has also mastered it.

This looks means trouble is a coming!

This week has been kind of a waste of a week around our house. I have been under the weather and now Stella has started to not feel so great with a runny nose. These are just a few photos from this afternoon and dinner time.

Today was a GREAT day at our house!

OK, everyone else in America is talking about our new president but at our house we have news that is so much better and more exciting. Stella pooped on the potty! Yes, my baby girl sat down on the potty and dig a great big poop! I am so proud, and Gracie will be happy to know that I did not take a photo. So, while all you crazy people are all excited about the president at our house we are dancing around celebrating our first poop on the potty!

Yes, Stella I am aware that in 16 years from now this post will embarrass you to no end but I am one proud mama and you can just get over it.

Saturday Bed Time

Stella did not want to got bed last night so we did a little photos shoot of her playing around the house. We rode our puppy, watched some cartoons, and played in the big chair.

Crazy Week

This has been a really crazy week for our family. My great Uncle has been very sick for a while and got really bad at beginning of this week. Stella and I went up on Wed. morning to stay with my Aunt and help her out. My Uncle did pass away on Wed. afternoon, I am really glad that I got to be with my Aunt and help her get things in order for the funeral on Friday. My Uncle lived a great life and had just celebrated his 80Th birthday, we know that he is in a much better place and no longer in pain, he will be greatly missed. My family went to our lake house then for the rest of the weekend. These photos are just of us hanging out and playing with Stella. My brother was back in town for the funeral and Stella had a blast with him.

Bath time!

Stella loves to be at Gigi and Papa's house. One of her favorite thing about their house is the huge bath tub. Last night she showed us a new trick in the tub, not sure if it is exactly the safest thing she could be doing but she was having a blast.

Diapers

This is how I found Stella not once but twice during nap time today. She had peed in her diaper and then taken off her pants and her diaper, standing in her bed very happy with herself! I thought that maybe we would try out that pink potty and see how she liked it. I turned on Little Einsteins and gave her some juice and she sat on the pink potty for 20 minutes but no pee pee.

She did enjoy sitting on the pink potty with her new pink phone, which I am going to take as at least some what of a good step in the start of the potty training.

I now just need to figure out a way to keep those diapers on her during nap time!

Chick Fil A

Today Stella and I meet up with Lynn and Dunning at Chick fil A for lunch. The kids had a really good time playing in the tunnels and Lynn and I got to chat which was really nice! Dunning watching all the kids.
